The diesel expansion of BMW in the United States is continuing with the introduction of the BMW 740Ld xDrive model on the North American market. The new car will be introduced at the Chicago Auto Show in February.

Prices for the new diesel 7 Series will start at $83,425 including the $925 destination and handling fee. For this price you’ll get BMW’s 3-liter turbocharged engine making 258 HP and 560 Nm of torque, on a long wheelbase body with the xDrive all-wheel-drive system at the same time.

The car is capable of reaching 60 mph in just 6.1 seconds and will be available only with the 8-speed automatic gearbox. With the new addition, the BMW diesel line-up in the US will reach a total of 7 models, including previously launched models like the 328d, 328d xDrive Sedans, 328d xDrive Sport Wagon, 535d and 535d xDrive Sedans and the xDrive35d X5.
