With 366,992 units sold in 2013, the BMW 5 Series range is the world’s best selling business model. Combining the attributes of the Sedan, Touring and Gran Turismo model every customer gets exactly what he/she wants when deciding to get a 5er.
Of course, part of the success is due to the LCI the range received last year, that saw the introduction of the touch sensitive iDrive controller and various new optional features alongside new engines and a drastically revised rear end for the GT.

The LCI also saw the introduction of the first diesel 5 Series in the US in a very long time, in the shape of the 535d Sedan model, that received numerous positive reviews and an impressive feedback from the BMW audience.

The new model is expected to be unveiled somewhere in late 2016 with production starting by 2017. Once again, BMW is trying to set new benchmarks in the segment and the new car is expected to have never before seen technological advancements like plasma panels for heating the cabin and extensive EfficientDynamics features that will take fuel consumption and CO2 emissions lower than ever.
