Starting with March, this year, the brand new BMW 2 Series will reach Australian showrooms, starting at AUD50,500 for the entry-level petrol 220i model.
Of course, next to the 220i the Aussies will also get the diesel 220d (AUD52,500) and the top of the line M235i for AUD79,900. For these prices, you’ll get plenty of standard kit, making accessorizing a matter of taste.

The entry-level model will be fitted with the 8-speed auto as standard (including launch control), just as the other two models do too.

Performance wise, these 3 models will be going against their CLA-Class rivals from Mercedes, making the competition fierce in this segment, once again. Compared to the spec-topping CLA45 AMG, the M235i is AUD7,000 cheaper whilst offering similar performances. Therefore, I expect the Stuttgart-based company to change its pricing strategy as soon as the new Bimmers hit the market.
