Sold between 1993 and 2002, the fourth-gen Chevrolet Camaro is not the type of pony car to float your boat, not then, not now. It's ugly, plasticky and the F-body platform isn't a big success in terms of handling characteristics. However, this blown drag racing monster is a '90s Camaro with bucket loads of oomph and a quarter mile record holder on top.
Although the 350 MPFI LT1 small block V8 from the Z/28 was a pretty damn potent mill, this particular Camaro has something way more humdrum under its bonnet. Even so, it has been recently crowned the world's quickest six-speed manual General Motors vehicle after it made mincemeat of the fastest Chevy Corvette ZR1 around on the drag strip.

What exactly hides under the bulging hood? Well, it's a 6-liter truck motor of all things, but the blue collar mill is fitted with a handful of high-performance Edelbrock bits and bobs, a side-exit exhaust and oh, almost forgot about the thumping great 76-mm turbocharger with 27 psi boost and the massive intercooler up front. In total, this bad boy generates North of 1,100 horsepower and tire shredding amounts of torque. An RPM T56 manual tranny delivers the force-fed berserkness to the rear wheels.

With a relatively low 3,160-pound (1,433 kgs) curb weight, the turbo'd Chevrolet Camaro is a hellish contraption especially when you see it launch from 7,400 rpm, getting its front end airborne. Before playing the video below, we recommend to turn your speakers all the way to 11.
