While some gamers work for hours and hours to develop new bunny hopping techniques, when it comes to the world of drag racing, and racing in general, for that matter, this is definitely something you don’t want to experience. However, the bunny hopping didn’t stop the Mitsubishi Colt in the video below from pulling a 9.43s quarter mile run.
The complete data reads 9.43s at 235 km/h (146 mph). Mind you, the timer for the run started after the car got off the line, so the reaction time was not taken into consideration here. Apparently, these were the rules of the event, which was held last month at the Bitburg Air Base. Still, we are dealing with the fastest Mitsubishi Colt in Germany, a country for which tuning is some sort of a religion.

We hear you asking for more performance numbers of this absolutely bonkers fourth-generation Colt. No problem, the hatch has quite an alphanumeric story to tell. The 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) sprint arrives in 2.4 seconds, while adding an extra 100 km/h on the speedo takes 3.7 seconds. As for the 200 to 300 km/h (124-186 mph) game, this is played in 9 seconds. Even with its sprint-biased gearing, this hatch still manages to offer a top speed of over 315 km/h (196 mph).

And for those drag racing afficionados, you should know this all-wheel drive machine can pull a 1.28s 60ft time.

What we have here is a creature that tips the scales at 1,120 kg (2,469 lbs), being motivated by a 2.0-liter four-pot that was pushed all the way up to 978 hp and 871 Nm (642 lb-ft). The powerplant, a Mitsubishi 4G63 unit, is best friends with a Forced Performance 3794R turbo, which, in this setup, deliver a 3.3 bar pressure.

The project comes from Boba Motoring, the Germans that like to turn old Volkswagen Golfs into ground-ground missiles. They will probably assess the suspension matter soon, so enjoy the visual amusement while it lasts.
