Best Female Golfer Awarded an Audi A5 Cabriolet

As we reported back in February, in its position of presenting sponsor and vehicle partner of the 2010 Ladies German Open golf tournament, Audi kept its promise and handed over the keys to a red A5 Cabriolet to the winner of the event. The lady in question, British player Laura Davies, also received 330,000 euros of prize money for her victory.

Audi partnered with the most important German ladies tournament for the third time. Bastian Kaltofen, Head of Trade Fairs, Events and Sport Marketing of AUDI AG, was the one who presented the car to Laura Davies.

In terms of features, the A5 cabrio includes a fully automatic convertible top, a wind deflector, 17-inch alloy wheels, automatic climate control, electromechanical parking brake plus xenon headlights with daytime running lights and LED rear lamps (model dependent).

Davies was among the 118 professional female golfers who competed for the prize. “The field featured high-caliber players: eight golfers from the top ten in the prize money ranking were guests in Bavaria, including the six first-placed players,” a company statement reads.

In addition to the winner’s prize, Audi also provided the entire vehicle fleet for the Ladies German Open. No less than 25 Audi shuttle vehicles were used to take players, officials and VIP guests to the golf court.

The company made Audi A3 Cabriolets available to ten selected lady golfers for the duration of the tournament, donated an Audi R8 Spyder as a hole-in-one prize and presented some highlights from the current model range at the Audi Terminal, as well as articles from the Audi Golf collection.
