Jaguar Land Rover is one of the most active companies, with the automaker making more and more efforts so strengthen its position on the market. However, Jaguar’s range currently has an unfilled space, as the carmaker hasn’t offered a replacement for the X-Type yet.

It seems that Bertone is ready to solve this issue, with the Italian design house presenting a design concept that could potentially become Jaguar’s future entry-level model, as Autobild reports.

Bertone is again demonstrating its genius, as the company is not following design trends, but creating new ones. Instead of just releasing a new four-door coupe, the Italian designers have created a vehicle that comes with the characteristics of this segment but doesn’t feature the sweeping roof line. However, the vehicle’s line suggests that it is a two-door, as the rear doors are half the size of the front ones.

Speaking of size, we have to tell you that the vehicle, which uses the B99 codename (this celebrates the company’s 99 years of existence), measures 4.5 meters in length, 1.95 meters in width and is 1.35 meters tall, which makes is just a but more compact than the discontinued X-Type.

The B99 will use a hybrid powertrain and will make its public debut at the upcoming Geneva Auto Show.

autoevolution will be attending the 2011 Geneva Motor Show, so stay tuned for some real up close and personal shots of the vehicles, as well as for first-hand details of the motorized contraptions presented at the event.
