Bentley Working on 5-Door Coupe and SUV

The Volkswagen empire has the clear goal of becoming the number one car company by 2018 and, in order to achieve this, each single brand has to undergo several modifications. Bentley is the next in the queue line to build new vehicles and, according to AutoExpress, a 5-door coupe, an SUV and an entry-level grand tourer are likely to receive the badge we've until now seen on very expensive sedans.

The 5-door coupe will share some parts with Porsche's Panamera and is going to be developed as a blend of Flying Spur and Continental GT. A twin-turbo W12 engine generating around 600 horsepower is very likely to power it, but a V8 and a diesel are also on the table for making it to the new coupe.

The eagerly awaited Bentley SUV is believed to be called Cross Continental and will be based on the Cayenne. Although the car will probably be absolutely impressive from many points of view, its main characteristic will be the price, as Bentley will make it one of the most expensive SUVs on the market, offering the latest amenities in terms of luxury.

The grand tourer that will complete the new line of Bentley vehicles is supposed to be a rival for Mercedes SL63 and Maserati Gran Turismo and, contrary to what you're expecting from a Bentley, it will be a lot cheaper. Of course, don't expect to see the new model dropping too much in price, but it will be probably the most affordable Bentley ever.

The first of the three models to reach the market is the coupe which, according to the aforementioned source, is expected to be launched soon after the debut of the new Panamera, due in 2013.
