Aussie Mazda3 Gets Added Value in 2010

Mazda’s Australian division announced yesterday the Mazda3 model is to receive a host of equipment upgrades and price reductions, gaining safety and added value. Firstly, the Mazda3 Neo adds standard side (front) and curtain (front and rear) SRS airbags, which means the range now achieves a five-star ANCAP rating.

The Mazda3 Neo also comes with cruise control and steering wheel-mounted audio controls. The additional airbags and cruise control, which previously cost more than AU$1000 as options, have been added at no cost.

The Mazda3 Maxx adds fog lamps and a leather wrapped gear shift knob (manual only) and steering wheel combined with a AU$485 reduction in the price. Furthermore, both the Mazda3 Maxx Sport and Mazda3 Diesel offer dual-zone climate control and a price reduction of AU$485.

Finally, the top-of-the-range Mazda3 SP25, already packed with a long list of insightful features and sporting a larger and more powerful 2.5 litre engine, now offers better value thanks to a $485 price cut.

“New Generation Mazda3 has been widely recognized by Australian consumers as offering tremendous value since its launch last year. Through the addition of new features and reduced prices, we are very pleased to be able to offer a Mazda3 that is now even better value,” Doug Dickson, Mazda Australia’s Managing Director said in a release.

Last month, Mazda3’s bigger sibling, the new Mazda6 range also entered the Australian market, in a choice of hatch, sedan and wagon body styles. As with the Mazda3, the standard safety equipment across the Mazda6 range achieved a 5-star ANCAP rating and include six SRS airbags, ABS and DSC.
