Every time there's a dynamic comparison between the M135i and the S3, the Bimmer comes out on top because, on the track, it's the only one that drifts and its engine is more interesting. It's almost as if having two extra cylinders puts it in a class above.
But we assure you, in the real world the difference between the two dissapears as fast as the cash from your bank account. Both cost about the same, both are about as fast to 100 km/h and both can be had with all-wheel drive. Which raises an interesting question: which one is really the fastest.
In this next video we stumbled upon, the S3 is actually faster to 100 km/h than an M135i, even though it's been fitted with xDrive. The reason for this is that while both have slick auto boxes, the 2013 BMW M135i isn't fitted with launch control while the Audi is. Without this advantage, the Bimmer would have this race in the bag, since its 3-liter TwinPower Turbo makes 320 PS (235 kW) to Audi's 2.0 TFSI that only makes 300 PS (221 kW).
Still, you have to give it up to Audi for making such a fast car based on a FWD platform and using the sort of engine used by a humble Golf GTI. While the BMW is brilliant, its looks and the fact that xDrive is an expensive option be seen as a disadvantage.
