It seems that Audi has some big plans for the company’s future and they have already taken their first step towards achieving their goal. This step concerns the current lineup of 49 vehicles and how it will change.
According to Audi’s CEO Rupert Stadler, the company has decide to push the above mentioned lineup to 60 vehicles. This decision was made because their target is “ to achieve the two million mark by 2020.”
Concerning the vehicles, no details have been offered, therefore we don’t know if there will be any specific models on tap. Stadler might have mentioned something, possible giving a hint on the brand’s direction as the company sees “great deal of potential, particularly in the SUV segment and in the especially prestigious full-size category."
So, we can assume that SUVs could be Audi’s next big thing as they are reportedly working on a flagship Q8 utility vehicle. Also, no need to worry about their sedans as a range-topping A9 is stated to be in the works.
