Audi has today reported a sales increase for the month of October of 14.5%. The 11,708 cars delivered represent a new best-ever result for the 10th month of the year , cementing the company’s steady progress with the 22nd consecutive month of increases in the US.
Premium category vehicles (A8, A7, A6, and Q7) represent nearly 34.1% of October Audi customer deliveries. The A8 saw deliveries increased 54.7% in October, while the new A6 reported an increase of 36.6% for the month and posted a 96.8% year-to-date gain when compared to the period from January-October 2011.
Meanwhile, the A3 recorded an increase of 59.7% in October, while the bigger A4 grew by a more modes 20.6%. Demand for clean diesels was especially strong, as TDI models represented 44.5% of the total A3 deliveries and 28.5% for Q7 SUVs.
“The newly launched models in our performance lines – the Audi S6, S7, S8 and RS 5 – have been huge success stories by virtually selling out shortly after hitting showrooms,” said Mark Del Rosso, Chief Operating Officer, Audi of America. “It’s clear that premium car buyers are excited about the new generation of cars at the top of our lineup with the Audi A6, A7, A8 and Q7 models constituting 71% of our sales gain in October.”
