Now that the US market is showing signs of recovery and things are slowly getting back to normal, carmakers are reconsidering their strategies and product launches for the next few years. One of the companies that are looking to take advantage of the US market recovery is Audi, as the brand with the four rings is looking into ways to bring the newly-presented RS5 in GM's and Ford's domestic market.
According to the guys over at automobilemag.com, Audi RS5 has high chances to arrive in the United States, but German officials are yet to comment on such a scenario.
Audi RS5 was first presented at the Geneva Auto Show in March and is powered by a 4.2-liter V8 powerplant that develops 450 horsepower and is coupled to a seven-speed S-tronic transmission. In terms of performance, it takes only 4.6 seconds to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h, while reaching a maximum electronically-limited maximum speed of 250 km/h (155.3 mph). However, customers looking for more power can opt for an extra package that raises the top speed to 280 km/h (173.9 mph).
As we said, Audi struggles to keep things secret when it comes to a possible US launch, although we admit that the now-running New York International Auto Show would be the perfect occasion for the German brand to announce its goodies for the US. More details are however expected soon, as the company will most likely comment on the rumors in the next few days.
European pricing for the RS5 starts at 77,700 Euros, with first units delivered this spring.
