We have a new winter fun video to show you, this time from the Ingolstadt based carmaker who released this promo for the new Audi RS3 Sportback, which is involved in some sideways action on the snow. The video shows plenty of drifting action and excellent car control, proving that the RS3 has the right quattro credentials.
All the shots were taken from excellent angles, and Audi even used a helicopter to let us take in the view from above. There’s over seven minutes of video to enjoy here, all without a whisper of music or any sort of annoying TV presenter's voice. What you are left with is the sound of the RS3’s 2.5-liter beasts snarling and barking in the snow.
The RS3 is powered by a five-cylinder TFSI engine which develops 340 horsepower and 450 Nm (332 lb-ft) of torque. Power is sent to the road through a seven-speed S tronic dual-clutch gearbox that comes with two auto and one manual modes, and the Ingolstadt firm's quattro permanent all-wheel drive system.
We don’t know what it can do on snow-covered surfaces, but on dry asphalt it reaches 62 mph (100 km/h) in just 4.6 seconds. Top speed is electronically limited to 155 mph (255 km/h). Audi says that the RS3 returns an average fuel consumption of 9.1 liters per 100 km (26 mpg US) and emits 212 g CO2 per km (341.18 g/mile).
To help improve stopping power, the RS3 is fitted with internally ventilated disks measuring 370 millimeters (14.6 inches) in diameter at the front and 310 millimeters (12 inches) at the rear. It also comes with an electronic stabilization program (ESP) that features a Sport mode and can be switched off entirely.
