Audi's commercials have had their ups and downs. With so many advertising agencies from all over the world doing their own clips for the Ingolstadt brand, it was inevitable that some would be better than others.
The one you are about to see was created to mark the company's sponsorship deal with the Emmys, but don't expect any references to the famous awards. Titled "Desolation," it features a family of four that lives in a beautiful house. Nothing out of the ordinary so far, right? Well, there's a reason they went for that title: the house is in the middle of a desert.

Extrapolating a little, you could say that Audi is finally admitting that the only way owning an R8 makes sense is if you're surrounded by acres of empty, flat land that, most importantly, isn't frequented by the police. Or, as we've seen recently, if you're a Russian billionaire such as Roman Abramovich.

The clip opens up with a few nature shots that set the mood, followed by a first glimpse of the house this family lives in. And even though it doesn't do anything special in the clip - it's a house, what exactly could it do? - the house is very important because Audi and Airbnb have gotten together to offer anybody interested the chance of booking three nights there.

The Rondolino Residence is located near Scotty's Junction in Nevada, having 80 acres of land in its property. It looks just like what you see in the clip, but if you'd like to get a closer look, it's also available on the Airbnb website. And as for Audi, the Germans are providing the transportation: an Audi R8 V10 Plus will be waiting in front of the house for anyone who rents it.

The offer is available throughout the month of October, with bookings starting on September 18. Seven three-night stays will be available, with each night costing $610. Nobody said it was going to be cheap, but think of it this way: you'll be living two hours away from Las Vegas, and you'll be having the keys to an Audi R8 V10 Plus. That means at least four hours of fun every day, even though considering the performances of the car, you could probably cut the commute time in half with ease.
