Aston Martin Cygent Debuting at Harrods

It seems that Aston Martin is going through a special period, as the automaker is expanding the borders at both ends of its vehicle line-up. After earlier today the company introduced a more luxurious version of the Rapide sedan called the Rapide Luxe, the carmaker is now annoucing that its premium city car, the Cygnet.

The model is scheduled to enter production next year, but it is now making its global debut at the Harrods department sotre in Knightsbridge, London.

The Cygent is being showcased using a prominent position in the store’s Brompton Road window display. We must mention that the company is displaying the production-ready version of the Cygnet. The vehicle, which is now available for sale through Aston Martin’s European dealer network, will be displayed at Harrods unti Saturday, December 11.

Aston Martin's characteristic design language is clearly referenced in Cygnet’s compact two-door body. Signature details like the famous aluminium grille, side strake and inverted rear lights create a distinguished, neatly-proportioned form and a discretely stylish statement. Painted, trimmed and assembled by the same technicians and craftspeople that create Aston Martin’s award-winning range of sports cars, Cygnet is the ultimate way to explore the contemporary city,” stated the press release.

The vehicle will go into production next year at the company’s global headquarters in Gaydon, Warwickshire, UK. It will be the eighth major production vehicle to roll off the facility’s assemble lines since 2004.

Aston Martin promises that the Cygnet offer the same level of luxury as any vehicle belonging to the company, being a “tailor fit solution for the city”.
