The Ararkis Sandstorm is tagged as the world's quickest car by the startup that envisions it. The digital world, that is, because they haven't even built it yet. However, it is a $2 million affair. Real money, that is.
The Sandstorm wears the logo of Ararkis Automobili, is advertised as a jaw-dropping hypercar and the world's quickest, being able to flash from 0 to 62 mph (0 to 100 kph) in just 1.5 seconds. That is quicker than the quickest run, which belongs to the Rimac Nevera: 1.74 seconds. But that is already a real car, built and sold by the Croatian startup Rimac.

Top speed will be electronically capped at 186 mph (300 kph). Meanwhile, the Nevera can do 256 mph (412 kph) or a record-breaking 171.34 mph (275.74 kph) in reverse!

For the moment, all we are getting are some renderings showing a very aggressively styled, out-of-this-world model to match the performance that it is credited with. It sports a huge windshield, starting from between the LED headlights and going all the way to the roof.

Those headlights extend from the front splitter and into the muscular fenders, toward the cameras that play the part of side mirrors.

At the back, there is an active wing linked to the roof, sitting above the rear horizontal lights with Aston Martin Vulcan vibes, sitting above (yeah, yeah, we've said that before, but wait for it!), something that looks like dual exhaust pipes. Weren't we dealing with an electric hypercar?

There are no renderings showing the cabin of the future model, but from what we can see from the outside, there will most likely be a two- or three-seat layout, with the occupants sitting in magnesium-aluminium alloy seats wrapped in Alcantara. A Bose audio system will be on board, as well as the surround view monitor.

Ararkis will build only 20 Sandstorms, all of them sitting on a bespoke chassis made from carbon fiber and aluminum composite materials. The startup says that there will be dual high-performance custom EV motors powering the vehicle. A single-speed transmission will help put the power down. But how much power that is, we are still not told.

But it is probably too early for the newly founded Ararkis Automobili, an idea that an entrepreneur from South Africa, Priven Reddy, came up with.

What we are told instead is that the energy is stored in a lithium-ion battery pack with a capacity of 115 kWh, which will help the hypercar drive as far as 311 miles (500 kilometers) before it needs to be plugged in again. The battery will be capable of charging from 0 to 80 percent in just 30 minutes.

The startup is based in the United Kingdom, and that is where the model is developed and will be built. For the moment, it has to resort to the digital world. Ararkis Automobili will reportedly debut the Sandstorm this upcoming July.
