The era of mass produced cars powered by high-displacement engines seems to have come to a halt, with most important automakers looking to fit their almost entire lineup with small turbocharged powerplants.
The V8 engine won't disappear obviously, but turbocharging and supercharching has become so popular that it has seized the drag strips as well. Except for a few die hard enthusiasts that still like to burn rubber using naturally-aspirated mills. Just like the guy you're about to see in the video uploaded below.
He decided to ditch the stock 5.0-liter Coyote and opted to stuff a carbureted 363 cubic inch (6.0-liter) engine under the pony's hood. Built around a Ford Racing Boss 302 block, stroked and bored out, the mill not only provides a great amount of power, but also sounds awesome. Oh, and by the way, this is our favorite drag strip Mustang, the Fox-body notchback coupe. Buckle up and watch the 9-second and 135 miles per hour quarter mile run.
