Everybody knows that when a Mercedes AMG car leaves the factory, it still has plenty of untapped potential. On the one hand, you have to ensure it's drivable and relatively safe and on the other, you have to worry about the reliability of the engine.
The gray area between where AMG leaves it and where it can go is filled by tuners, and one of the most famous for this brand of performance vehicle is Renntech. The company was established in 1989 in Florida by Hartmut Feyhl, an ex AMG technical for 12 years.
With such history behind it, it's not surprising that RENN makes the fastest tuned AMGs on the planet. This one, a 725 rear wheel horsepower CLS 63 AMG just made a record-setting pass at the drag strip, reaching the finish line in 10.6 seconds at a speed of 137 miles per hour.
