Alfa Romeo’s latest all-new model, the Giulia, was revealed last year. It is available for purchase, but the Italians are not done with it yet.
Currently, the range topper is called Quadrifoglio, and sometimes called QV. It comes with a 50:50 weight distribution, along with a twin-turbo V6 engine that develops 510 HP. It can provide a 0-100 km/h (62 mph) acceleration time of just 3.9 seconds, while its top speed is rated at 307 km/h (191 mph).

The Giulia Quadrifoglio prides itself with one of the best power-to-weight ratios in the segment, but this might not stop the Italian brand from making another version, according to the latest rumors. We are referring to the GTA, a model designation that was used on performance versions of previous models in the Alfa Romeo range.

The potential GTA version of the Alfa Romeo Giulia would fit in the range as a development of the Quadrifoglio. In other words, the Italian brand could develop such a model for die-hard enthusiasts that want even more performance from the fastest production sedan ever offered by the brand from Milan.

Its German competitors, the trio formed by Audi, BMW, and Mercedes-Benz, often develop more powerful versions of the most sporty variations of their products. Since Alfa Romeo is on a campaign to boost sales, the introduction of a GTA version of the Giulia cannot be excluded.

However, it is important to note that Alfa Romeo has not announced or confirmed such plans on an official level. Most likely, the development work for such a version of the Giulia sedan is done quietly, while the rest of the range is being promoted in the brand’s dealership network.

The GTA version of the Giulia could come to market in a few years, when the Italian sedan would receive a facelift. The Giulia GTA might not bring a massive horsepower bump, but it should come with a few aero tweaks, along with more torque and power.

Fortunately for those interested in a fast Alfa Romeo with rear-wheel drive, the Giulia Quadrifoglio is already available for order in the brand’s network.
