Alfa Romeo will throw one of its biggest centenary celebration parties at the upcoming Goodwood Festival of Speed that will take place between July 2nd- 4th.As the event is about to debut, the Italian brand, which is the featured marque of this year’s edition of the Festival, has presented the central statue that sits in front of the Goodwood mansion.
The statue brings together two Alfa Romeo vehicles that represent contemporary and historic times. The 8C supercar, which sits at the top of the brand's current range, has been placed next to one of the only two P2 race cars that still exist today.
The latter is credited for creating a part of the Alfa Romeo magic we see today as it won the first ever championship for Grand Prix cars back in 1925. The P2 is estimated to have a value of between 15-20 million pounds.
Alfa will bring 50 iconic vehicles to Goodwood, with numerous cars being brought to the UK for the first time. The four-wheeled goodies list includes vehicles from different ages, from cars like the pre-War P3, Monza, 12C-37 and 2900 B Le Mans to cars such as the 159 Alfetta, GTAm, Tipo 33, 185T and 164 Pro Car.
In addition to that, Alfa Romeo’s latest creation, the Giulietta, will make its UK debut at the Festival.
Since Alfa is celebrating 100 years of existence, we decided test another one of its models. We chose the 159 1.75 TBi. If you check our test drive section soon, you will see why.
