Alfa Romeo at Geneva 2010

Alfa Romeo plans to offers visitors a complete booth at the upcoming Geneva Auto Show, as this year marks the brand’s centenary. By far the most important Alfa Romeo event at Geneva will be the Giulietta’s world premiere. The eagerly-awaited hatch will also introduce the new “compact” platform to the market. Five models of the car will be present: two Quadrifoglio Verde versions fitted with the 235 HP 1750 TBi, two Distinctive versions with 170 HP 2.0 JTDM and a Distinctive version fitted with the 170 HP 1.4 MultiAir Turbo petrol unit. The Alfa Romeo Mito will bring technical novelties to Geneva, as the car will introduce the  6-speed DDCT (Dual Dry Clutch Transmission) and "Blue&Me–TomTom". The first is a dual dry clutch automatic gearbox while the second is an integrated infotainment system that features a color touch-screen interface (this includes a satellite navigation function). Two versions of the Mito will be showcased at Geneva: a Distinctive 135 HP 1.4 MultiAir Turbo petrol  and an exclusive MiTo Quadrifoglio Verde powered by the 1.4 MultiAir Turbo petrol engine that delivers 170 HP. Alfa’s flagship model, the 8C Spider will have its own dedicated area, where visitors will be able to admire its work-of-art-like, carbon fiber body. In addition to that, the Alfa boot will also showcase the 24 HP, the marque’s first vehicle. This car that started it all was produced between 1910 and 1920 and enjoyed a great popularity thanks to its advanced mechanical features for that time. Fiat’s financial arm will also be present at Geneva, offering customers a complete view of its range of services - these cover all the brands in the Fiat portfolio, including Alfa Romeo. autoevolution will be attending the 2010 Geneva Auto Show, so stay tuned for some real up close and personal shots of the vehicles, as well as for first-hand details of the motorized contraptions presented at the event.
