Three of the typical 335 invited players that will all race each other at this year’s NFL Combine will have the chance to go home with a brand new Porsche 911 Carrera. The sportscars - which were branded with a cheetah wrap by Adidas - are there to promote the “Uncaged Adizero 5-Star 40 cleat”, the company’s latest footwear.
Sure, first of all you’ll need to be a professional footballer. Secondly, you’ll need to be invited to actually take part of the NFL Combine. As you know, the scouting combine is a week-long showcase taking place every February at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis and athletes attend by invitation only. Then, there’s also the fact that only the fastest three sportsmen in the 40-yard dash at the NFL Combine will get one.
The ones who will sign up for the deal also have to agree with promoting the company’s products. Adidas claims that the new shoes, at 4.7 ounces, are the lightest football cleats ever and can float on water. Light means fast, fast means good when it comes to sportsmen. And what’s the next thing fast sports stars really like? Yes, sportscars.
The one thing we can’t agree with is the way that Cheetah changes the looks of the Porsche, but if you think about it, any wrap can be removed so it shouldn’t be that bad.
