AC Schnitzer Presents Type VIII Alloy Rims

How else could a tuning company celebrate the arrival of the spring season (and, actually any other event) if not by releasing a new bespoke product? The German tuning company AC Schintzer makes no exception to the rule and introduces the Type VIII alloy rims.

The single piece Type VIII comes in a two-color paint scheme and is destined for BMW cars. The company recommends its use for the new models in the German manufacturer’s range, including the 5 Series GT (F07), the X1 (E84) and the Z4 (E89). But this is just a marketing scheme, as the rim can be fitted to most current BMW models, such as the 1 Series, the 3 Series, the 5 Series, the 6 Series and the 7 Series.

This is how the tuning house describes its latest creation: “ The new one-piece wheel has a beautiful but easy-care look, without any loss of unrestricted suitability for everyday use. The Type VIII alloys are made in the low pressure process and subjected to heat treatment after casting. Thanks to the high quality casting process, the characteristic AC Schnitzer design with its 5 double spokes can be made even more delicate for optimum weight.

The forged Type VIII complements AC Schnitzer’s Type VIII wheel range that also includes the forged Type VIII rim. This has been introduced in September 2009 and comes in 22 inch and 23 inch sizes. Its body has been forged, milled, rolled & clear laquered, while its inner star has been forged, milled and then black painted. The rim is suitable for the BMW X5 (E70), the BMW X6 (E71) and the BMW 7 Series range (F01/F02).
