Abarth 500C and Abarth Punto Evo Go on Sale

The latest two models from Abarth have just been launched in Italy, Fiat announced today, supported by a new advertising campaign. Dubbed “More power to your senses,” the campaign reunites the two Abarth models thanks to the sporting spirit of Fiat’s in-house tuning company.

The Abarth Punto Evo is going to be offered in two different configurations, as follows: a standard unit plus an Esseesse version, both of them equipped with a 1.4-liter Multiair engine. Thanks to a slew of Abarth tweaks, power output goes up to 160 and 175 horsepower, respectively.

The 160 hp Punto Evo will sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in around 7.5 seconds, while topping at 214 km/h (133 mph).

On the other hand, the 500C is the first convertible to be launched by the renewed Abarth brand. Technical wise, the Abarth 500C is powered by a 1.4-liter engine that develops 140 horsepower at 5,000 rpm and 206 Nm of torque at 2,000 rpm in Sport mode.

In terms of performance, the Abarth 500C goes from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.1 seconds and reaches a maximum speed of 205 km/h.

“The new Abarth Punto Evo aims to win an even bigger place in the hearts of young enthusiasts, continuing the work begun with the Grande Punto, which is bought mostly by customers aged between 18 and 30,”
a company statement reads.

“The new open-topped car with its reworked engineering also represents a strategic choice by Abarth: this model was also produced to appeal to women customers who seek design and elegance but also appreciate the performance of a true sports car,” the statement continues, referring to the Abarth 500 C.
