A New Honda CBR600RR for 2010

Though many would have expected for the Japanese manufacturer to release performance upgrades for its new supersport bikes, the middle-class CBR600RR will only come with new graphics for 2010.

The bike, which took the top three positions in the World Supersport championship last season and has seven consecutive WSS titles to its name is now offered in a sporty Tricolour scheme, which celebrates the CBR’s championship-winning heritage.

Moreover, customers can opt for two Graphite Black schemes, Graphite Black/mono-black and Graphite Black/Victory Red. The CBR600RR is also available with C-ABS, available in red/black only, and now an alternative ECU for this version which is suitable for circuit use is available as an optional accessory.

The non C-ABS version is available in a Special Edition color scheme with bold graphics incorporating a female face in high contrast pattern. The new special custom graphic is called "leyla". According to American Honda Motor’s Powersports Division, dealer availability and MSRP is yet to be determined.

"We are very excited about announcing these four street bikes for 2010. Within this mix we have a new cruiser, a new lightweight touring bike and two CBR sport bikes,”
said Powersports Press Manager Bill Savino.

“The cruiser offers a whole new look for Honda, our new touring bike delivers lightweight, nimble handling, a stylish fairing plus saddlebags for the long haul or daily commute. The CBRs continue to set the standards of performance for the full-on sporting genre. This sets the stage for a great year in 2010 and there will be additional street model announcements later this fall."
