In the modern era, the Volkswagen Beetle has always been one step behind the Golf, using the platform of the previous-generation best-selling Volkswagen. And since we have a hard time taking a car seriously just thanks to its styling, we haven't paid that much attention to the New Beetle, whether referring to the 1997-launched New Beetle or the 2011-introduced Beetle.
However, the New Beetle in the clip below is a bit different. To be more specific, we're talking about a car that has enough power to serve all the people in the world.

This 2005 Bug is motivated by a 555ci Chevy Big Block - check out the number plate of the car and you'll understand . The machine comes in full street trim, packing all the comfort creatures its maker intended for it, from power windows to air conditioning.

Using its naturally aspirated V8 alone, this Vee-Dub can pull 9s quarter mile runs at around 150 mph (that's 241.5 km/h for all your reading this across the pond).

However, the Canadian owner of the car also decided to install a nitrous system. The gas is not used for improving the 1/4-mile numbers, but rather for allowing the Beetle to pull tons of wheelies that keep the audience happy.

This VW even has a deeper message, being driven in the memory of the late Kendall Herbert.

Kendall, who was considered for the Gunness Book of World Records (the fastest teenager in the world and the fastest woman to drive the quarter mile in Canada), died in a jet car crash that took place at almost 300 mph (480 km/h) back in 2006.

Despite facing learning disabilities that prevented her from following a normal educational pathway, Kendal pursued her drag racing dream, managing an impressive ascension during her short career.
