The new G63 has been doing surprisingly well in drag races, despite its weight, so it would have been interesting to see how it handles a BMW M850i Coupe, which isn't a featherweight either.
But rather than release another well-edited, extremely popular YouTube drag racing video, Carwow decided to do something much cuter. Mat Watson jumped out of the hot seat and asked his 71-year-old mother to do the drag racing instead.

She has no previous experience drag racing a car. But thankfully, the G63 AMG is easy to get off the line - just hold the brake, step on the throttle, let go and hold on for dear life. But it's not like your average family car either, packing a 4-liter twin-turbo V8 with 577-hp (585 PS) and 627 pound-feet (850 Newton-meters) of torque pushing over 2.5 tons of box.

Mat puts massive pressure on his mom, suggesting she should win because the rival car is less powerful. More specifically, the 4.4-liter BMW makes 523-hp (530 PS) and 4,478 pounds (2,031 kilograms). Of course, he didn't mention that it's more than half a ton lighter and cuts through the air much better.

After losing the race, mom is visibly angry to the point where she utters profanities, so they decide to set the record straight by swapping driver. Her reaction after winning in her second-ever drag race is priceless and quite honest.

What is it about car journalists and their mothers? If we remember correctly, the Clarkson&Co got their old dears on Top Gear as well. I suppose it stems from doing this as a job and having awkward conversations around the holidays.

- Do you know cars will fly soon and we won't have to deal with traffic jams?
- No, mother, they won't.
- They will, I've seen it on the news. And what about those Tesla, I hear they're pretty fast, right?!
- Yes, mother, I drove you in one last year, don't you remember? Maybe I should have you drag racing one for YouTube views.
