No one's been building purpose-built all-terrain tires for as long as BFGoodrich, albeit with a few different leading figures along the way. But with the 2024 lineup of BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO3 tires, there's all the proof that 30 years under the Michelin corporate umbrella has made some of the best off-road tires ever built. Over the next 24 months, BFG is set to pepper the market with over 100 different tire size options, 13 of which are all-new for this month, May 2024.
With the benefit of their continued ownership under Michelin, BFG maintains access to some of the most well-funded and prestigious automotive R&D departments in the world; BFG has some of the world's most advanced rubber compounds to tailor their new off-road tire to the needs of the consumer. With over 200 different additives comprising the average BFG/Michelin rubber compound, each bespoke tire model uses their own specific blend to great effect. In the case of the All-Terrain T/A KO3, it's a tire even more durable at withstanding harsh off-road terrain.

The new KO3s sport more robust sidewalls compared to older BFG tires and an even more aggressive tread compound to compensate for different non-tarmac terrains, which historically required radically different tires and tread compounds to cater to the specific needs of each environment. Be it snow, shallow mud, sand, or gravel, the weakest link of any Jeep, Bronco, or Range Rover riding on All-Terrain T/A KO3s will not be the tires; you can be sure of that. Compared to the outgoing BFG KO2s that've become the gold standard for custom 4x4s in North America, what's on tap with its replacement is a formula we're all familiar with, just with even more layers of refinement added to the mix.

Add on a 50,000-mile warranty and industry-leading 60 day satisfaction guarentee, the price you pay for the beefiest off-road tires on sale today nets you a few benefits outside of raw off-road performance. By the time 2026 rolls around, BFG aims to run the KO3 across the full gambit of off-road vehicles, from light Jeeps and Jeep-like SUVs to pickup trucks and larger SUVs. As an impact statement speaking to the accessibility of the KO3 to the average Joe, this commitment to filling virtually every niche in the market is a testament to the manufacturing horsepower at BFG's disposal.

BFGoodrich Tires’ legendary toughness has been made tougher with the creation of the All-Terrain KO3 tire,” explained Harold Phillips, BFGoodrich Global General Manager and one of the leading minds behind the aggressive marketing strategy that BFG's undertaken to spread the word about their new flagship off-road tire. "We’ve done a lot of racing and research in the 10 years since we launched the KO2 tire, so a decade of data, feedback, technology and experience went into the development of the KO3 tire. We are our own competition, and we knew it was time to take the all-terrain tire to another level. It will be exciting to see what consumers will do – at work and at play – with the KO3 tire."

No word yet on how much a set of KO3s might cost. However, its predecessor, the All-Terrain T/A KO2, typically runs between $200 and $250 depending on taxes, fees, and vendor location. Suffice to say, you'll get even more for you money with the KO3s.
