44,500 Dollars for an Audi TT-S

And it's worth every penny from where we're standing, but that's just us, call us suckers for a car with nice round shapes ... But let's not get into that, let's talk about the TT-S because that's why you clicked the title in the home page.

German Audi have just announced the pricing on their US-spec TT, but 44,500 is just a ballpark figure as the offer is more diversified. To be precise, that's the price for the Coupe, while the Roadster will cost you a bit extra – $47,500 as Audi said. Of course, the price will go up once you start throwing extras on your car but it's still good to know what you're working with from the get-go.

This move makes the TT-S top of the range for Audi, in front of the TT 2.0T and the TT 3.2. It rolls on a turbocharged engine that uses direct injection to produce its 265 hp @ 6500 rpm and 258 pounds of torque. In comparison, the 3.2 V6 TT only has 250 hp and 236 pounds of torque.

Performance-wise the TT-S also has the other TTs beat in the acceleration department, chewing down the 0 to 60 standard in just 4.9 seconds. All that power will cause you more than a few trips to the gas station, but the TT-S does manage a respectable 24 mpg fuel economy average.

The TT-S also come with the famous Audi S tronic dual-clutch transmission, magnetic suspension and the quattro all-wheel-drive system that turned these cars into legends. The only bad news is that the Audi will be limited to a top speed of 155 mph.

But fret not speed demons, if the TT-S's performances still aren't enough for you, there's the TT-RS coming round the corner, just not in the US (or at least not yet).
