Founded in 1997 by two engineers and amateur drivers, UK-based Radical Sporstcars is just what its name implies – a specialty automaker that makes probably the most radical road-legal and purpose-built racing cars in the whole world.
With under 140 employees and a yearly revenue of £20 million, Radical Cars is trumped in terms of assets even by the most traditional British car company of them all – Morgan. Despite their limited resources, it's hard to believe how the Radical R&D team managed to develop a vehicle as extreme as the SR8 RSX.

Unveiled only recently at an event held at the Circuit de Barcelona, Spain, this SR8 RSX thingy looks as its ready to offer you that LMP Le Mans experience you've always dreamed of but for less money than an actual endurance racer. Mind you, less money actually means £109,950 and the Peterborough-based automaker is saying the RSX's powerplant should be rebuilt after 40 hours of racing action or so.

Speaking of the oily bits, this Radical is blessed with a new-generation RPE 3-liter V8 that develops an incredible 440 horsepower and screams all the way to 10,500 rpm. We know it's mated as standard to a seven-speed paddle shift gearbox, but Radical is coy on acceleration times. Take into consideration the 860-kilogram (1896-pound) dry weight of the thing and yeah, the SR8 RSX is an exhilarating beast to tame.

Order books are already open informs Radical, but deliveries will commence in the first quarter of 2015. With a fuel cell capacity of up to 100 liters and a dual dry-break refuelling option if you need this sort of thing, the Radical SR8 SRX is eligible for the 2015 Radical European Masters championship, the company's premier pan-European racing series that visits famous Grand Prix circuits across the continent.
