The more inexperienced an automotive aficionado is, the more inclined he or she will be to dream about driving a racecar on the road. This goal has haunted the young minds of the car world for decades and decades, but when you finally end up doing this... you’ll be in for a nightmare.
You don’t even have to take our word for this, since the clip below allows you to witness just such an experience. The footage shows the driver of a Radical RXC trying to park the thing. This took place during a car event and, as expected, the whole scene turned into a bit of a comedy for the attenders. The driver wasn’t exactly laughing though.
Then again, you can’t expect a car like the Radical RXC to be parking-friendly. Sure, unlike other creations of the British carmaker, this one puts a roof over your head, but it’s still a track-addicted animal that’s barely road legal.
The turning circle of such vehicles is usually worse than that of our planet, while the steering itself isn’t exactly made for the parking stuff. For instance, the Radical RXC’s steering doesn’t come with a self-centering function.
Oh and let’s not forget the as-low-as-sitting-on-the-gorund driving position. The center of gravity has to be as low as possible, which means you won’t enjoy any panoramic view.
Still, such road-legal track metal usually makes for some nice trolling, as you can pick on supercar drivers and sometimes even on bikers, it’s just that, in such instances, it all works against you.

There’s a rather hefty list of things that make trackday machines impractical
First of all, the access appears to have been used as some sort of natural selection - only the fittest can make it inside such a car. Then there’s the visibility. Don’t expect one bit of extra visibility on top of that which is required for setting hot lap times. These machines have to perform and the compromises they make to be allowed on public roads stop far away from offering such amenities. The turning circle of such vehicles is usually worse than that of our planet, while the steering itself isn’t exactly made for the parking stuff.
