At the beginning of this month, 24 hardcore BMW M fans travelled from their homes in the US all the way to Munich, Germany, to take deliver of their brand new M5 super-saloons. The „European Delivery" event for the American market was hosted at BMW Welt, where all the car were put on spinning stands for their owners to admire them.
This is already the fifth generation of the iconic high-performance saloon, and it seems that one of the new M5 owners has had all of them. However, he won’t be missing any of the old ones, because the 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 is a monster and and a fuel sipper at the same time.
It produces 560 horsepower and 500 lb-ft (678 Nm) of torque for a naught to 100 km/h (62 mph) time of 4.4 seconds an an electronically limited top speed of 250 km/h (155 mph).
According to BMW’s own figures, it will do 7.6 l/100km on the highway (31 mpg US) and 14 l/100km in the city (16.8 mpg).
