The ongoing Los Angeles Auto Show (November 17-26) had a handful of major introductions; one of them was the arrival of the 2025 Lucid Gravity.
Automobility LA is a big part of the autumn celebrations for the automotive industry's fall season, and it is no wonder that Lucid chose the 2023 edition of the LA Auto Show to reveal its next model – the Lucid Gravity. What we are dealing here with is a full-size seven-seater SUV with a luxuriously minimalist cabin that boasts a starting price of less than $80k.

That makes it a direct and unnerving rival for the current Tesla Model X, which at the moment kicks off at $79,990 in dual-motor AWD form with 348 miles (560 km) of range and a sprint to 60 mph (96 kph) in just 3.8 seconds. When on the market, though, Lucid's Gravity might boast a range "in excess of 440 miles" (708 km), leaving the Model X far behind.

There's also a 900-volt electrical architecture, which allows both ultra-fast charging rates of 350 kW at DC fast chargers and peak power of around 800 horsepower, letting the hulking, minivan-like SUV zip to 60 mph in less than 3.5 seconds. Considering all that, an $80k tag sounds game-changing, right? Well, it seems that even that is not enough to put Tesla in its place – presumably behind Lucid and its Air and Gravity models. Indeed, the company needs more automobiles to pose a real threat to Tesla's sales and hype dominance.

Some would immediately think that calls for a couple of smaller models that would further lower the entry pricing point, right? Something along the lines of Lucid rivals for the Tesla Model 3 and Model Y, of course. However, the imaginative realm of digital car content creators has other plans, as always. The Halo oto channel on YouTube provides fresh automotive info corroborated with their virtual designs; now, there are some CGI ideas about a Lucid truck.

To be exact, they want to see Lucid give birth to a Tesla Cybertruck competitor. According to the channel's resident pixel master, this proposed electric pickup truck would oppose the Tesla Cybertruck's edginess with the flowing, highly aerodynamic lines of the Air sedan and Gravity SUV – with the latter boasting a 0.24 drag coefficient, claimed to be the best among three-row SUVs.

If ever real, logic also dictates the Gravity SUV would donate much of its underpinnings to a potential Lucid pickup truck – including those 800 ponies and 900-volt electric architecture to enable stellar values for range and performance. Do take all this with a pinch of salt, though, as nothing is official yet. Besides, it would also feature a big pack of competitors if revealed sometime around the 2027 model year – the GMC Hummer EV, Rivian R1T, Ford F-150 Lightning, Ram 1500 REV, Chevrolet Silverado EV and GMC Sierra EV, among others.
