The good folks over at the Q Cars and PoloTo channels on YouTube are attempting to bring back to virtual life one of the most popular full-size sedans – the Chevrolet Impala – and transform it into a staple of modern-yet-classic Chevy sedan luxury.
The Chevrolet Impala nameplate appeared in Chevy's lineup starting with the 1958 model year. The model's production then occurred between 1957 and 1985, 1994 and 1996, as well as 1999 and 2020. That's quite a tumultuous history, of course, morphing throughout its life from Chevrolet's most popular full-sized model to a performance sedan version of the Chevrolet Caprice Classic sedan (the infamous Impala SS of the 1990s) and then into a mainstream FWD car for the last part of its life.

As such, you could say that Chevy's Impala nameplate is an expert on revivals, having gone through several official reinventions throughout its lifetime. Interestingly, it also went through a mid-size phase during the stints of the eighth and ninth generations (2000-2016), so it's also adept at morphing through segments. With that in mind, and given the moniker's popularity, are we surprised that – from time to time – people just keep dreaming of yet another way of bringing back to life the Chevy Impala?

While the US automaker is mum about a potential return of their full-size passenger car nameplate, the rumor mill – especially the imaginative realm of digital car content creators – is always eager to fulfill everyone's fantasies. As such, here are the good folks over at the 'Q Cars' and PoloTo channels on YouTube unleashing their resident pixel masters for the hypothetical Chevrolet Impala's return to primetime. As far as the former CGI expert is concerned, with just a hint of AI assistance, one can go a long way toward envisioning a classic sedan like the American saloon – and do we also notice a faint aroma of Audi A5 and A7 Sportback in there, too?

Secondly, the virtual author from the other channel targets a more exaggerated look – his unofficial depiction of the Chevy Impala revival would bode well for a quick brawl with the Dodge Charger muscle sedan if the latter wouldn't switch generations and return to the classic two-door coupe form for its adoption of the novel EV lifestyle. So, which one of these two hypothetical visions do you think would be feasible in the real world?

Remember, this is all wishful thinking, and no one at GM even hinted that Chevrolet might be allowed to assist the affordable Chevrolet Malibu with a more extensive and posher sedan that could better fight the Asian mid-size and full-size saloons. However, we understand the allure of the Impala nameplate – and we really hope that one day, it might be allowed to make a stellar comeback.
