Following last month's scoops, the 2025 BMW X3 was caught in the open again. The prototype you see below was spotted on the roads of Germany and at the infamous Nurburgring, and we can now see more details courtesy of the slightly thinner camouflage.
Mind you, the premium compact crossover still has a lot of trippy stickers on its body, but some of them were trimmed down, at least up front. As a result, we can see the production headlamps a bit clearer. The grille also had less camouflage on it, but it certainly did the trick, as it is very hard to make out its exact size.

Much like the previously-snapped tester, this one also wore the final production taillights. We can also see the flush-mounted door handles, a spoiler of generous size above the rear windscreen, and the white paint finish visible on the roof. The exhaust tips were still hidden under the bumper, and if you look at the right rear fender, you will see the fuel filler cap.

Together with the open kidney grille that allows the air to go through it, the latter two point to an internal combustion model. As you likely know, the next-gen BMW X3 will be offered with good old ICE power and with a battery-electric derivative that will be known as the iX3. That's a recipe similar to Porsche's upcoming Macan, which will be a direct rival to this model.

Speaking of the powertrains, it is expected to launch with 2.0-liter four-cylinder and 3.0-liter six-cylinder units. The usual plug-in hybrids will join the lineup, and topping them all in terms of performance will be the full-blown M model. However, it will likely be a while until the next BMW X3 M hits the market. Completing the offering will be the battery-electric iX3.

On the inside, it will feature a curved display, with the 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster behind the wheel next to the 14.9-inch infotainment system. A minimalist gear shifter will be found on the center console, and the flat-bottom steering wheel is also new, just like the switchgear, door cards, and so on.

Besides the Porsche Macan, the upcoming BMW X3 will also continue to take on the likes of the Audi Q5, Alfa Romeo Stelvio, and Mercedes GLC. There is no word yet about the grand unveiling, but if everything goes as planned, then the regular versions might be due in a few months. Chances are it will arrive in showrooms nationwide as a 2025 model, likely with a small price bump.

The current X3 sDrive30i and X3 xDrive30i start at $46,900 and $48,900, respectively, and the X3 M40i at $61,900. As for the X3 M, it has an MSRP of $75,500.
