The Blue Oval company's eagerly expected mid-cycle refresh for the best-selling F-Series version comes, logically - with traditional MSRP hikes. Now, the 700-hp 2024 Ford F-150 Raptor R starts at no less than $109,900 with the destination charges ($1,995) and acquisition fee ($645) included!
Ford decided to present the 2024 F-150 refresh on the eve of NAIAS 2023, and it will probably go down in history as this year's Detroit Auto Show's most important novelty. The Detroit automaker stole the initial spotlight of the 2023 North American International Auto Show in Detroit to ensure everyone knew the best-selling truck in the United States got the promised styling tweaks – including two new headlight treatments depending on trim.
There is also an optional Pro Access multifunctional tailgate, additional standard equipment, a more powerful and torque-happy 2.7-liter EcoBoost base engine, up to 7.2kW of exportable power on demand on PowerBoost-equipped trucks, plus "best-in-class" ratings for towing and payload - 13,500 and 2,455 pounds, respectively. But that's not all because the good news ends at the brink of opening the online configurator tool.
As per recent tradition, the 2024 model year changes have brought some 'delightful' MSRP hikes. As a comparison note, the base 2023 F-150 XL goes out of the factory for $33,835. Meanwhile, a 2023 Raptor is at least $76,775, and you can add $30,575 for the Raptor R equipment package, meaning the 2023 Ford F-150 Raptor R starts at no less than $109,900 with the destination charges ($1,995) and acquisition fee ($645) included! But the 2024MY is even costlier, of course.
So, the facelifted 2024 F-150 XL costs $36,570, followed by another seven available models. Next comes the STX from an MSRP of $43,895, followed by XLT models at $47,620 and the off-road-oriented Tremor starting at $63,950. Beginning with the Lariat ($64,995), you are getting access to the new yet different headlights, and the family includes the $73,730 King Ranch, $73,425 Platinum, and the mighty Raptor that is available for at least $77,980.
You can have the latter in Agate Black Metallic, Antimatter Blue Metallic, Carbonized Gray Metallic, Oxford White, Avalanche, and Shelter Green – all free of charge, or in Rapid Red Metallic Tinted Clearcoat for another $495. However, upgrading to the 700-hp 5.2-liter supercharged V8 of the Raptor R package is another $31,575 - $1k more than before the refresh. All in all, the 2024 Ford F-150 Raptor R, with the destination charge included, will leave the factory for at least $111,550.
That is only a bit more than with the 2023 Raptor R, but do remember that Ram, for example, sells the 2024 Ram 1500, which is only marginally more expensive than before (a $15 increase for the base MSRP!). Meanwhile, the 2023 Ram 1500 TRX, complete with 702 horsepower and its mighty 6.2-liter supercharged V8, starts at just $85,050, and that's quite a big difference even in the rarefied world of super trucks!
