Slated to go live on August 9, the 2024 Cadillac Escalade IQ will integrate with the luxury carmaker's all-electric model series alongside the GM BEV3-based Lyriq and Celestiq. But since it's a full-size SUV, will it use the same platform?
Cadillac is doing great in places like China – with many new introductions, including the second generation CT6 sedan – as well as at home in America. Sure, it's no match for the German triumvirate, but it hasn't abandoned passenger cars (especially the high-performance versions) just yet and is also building quite a reputation on the EV front for itself.

For example, they have on sale the Lyriq crossover SUV for less than $60k, and they also build upon inquiry only the Celestiq flagship. Both are made on the same GM BEV3 platform with Ultium battery technology alongside upcoming models like the Buick Electra E5, Chevy Equinox and Blazer EVs, Cruise Origin, plus the Honda Prologue and Acura ZDX.

But, of course, Cadillac does not forget that a big part – both figuratively and quite literally – of its appeal is made of the iconic full-size Escalade truck-based luxury SUV. And since they already played with a behemoth in electric version – the reborn GMC Hummer EV and Hummer EV SUV – General Motors probably decided that an Escalade EV was the next logical step.

Interestingly, the model has often been teased and announced – before its official world premiere on August 9. And while the styling is pretty easy to read between the lines, as it will arrive to preview the 2024 model year's refresh for the entire Escalade lineup, its technical details are somewhat of a mystery. So, of course, the imaginative realm of digital car content creators had a blast fiddling with the looks of the upcoming, first-ever 2024 Cadillac Escalade IQ.

Just recently, the Halo oto channel on YouTube, which provides fresh automotive info that is corroborated with their virtual designs, has also attacked the unofficial CGI presentation of the latest EV from Caddy. Just like other previous renderings, this is based on the official teasers – so it's pretty safe to say that it's as close as possible to the real deal.

However, do take all this with a healthy dose of salt because automakers are known to keep a secret or two for their official presentations. Anyway, what bugs us more than the refreshed looks of the 2024 Caddy Escalade IQ is the fact that we don't know yet if the automaker will use the BEV3 platform for this iteration or switch to the ultra-heavy, slow-selling GM BT1 architecture used for the GMC Hummer EV and Hummer EV SUV plus the upcoming 2024 Chevy Silverado EV and GMC Sierra EV. So, what do you think – is Caddy going full BEV3 or adding the BT1 to its roster?
