The all-new V8-powered BMW 7 Series looks weird from the outside. There's no beating around the bush about that. The humongous hot-water radiator-like grille and the somewhat slim taillights that do nothing to make the busy rear end look harmonious are design misses. Or are they? Weren't people outraged about the G80 M3 and G82 M4 front ends when they debuted? But no matter your stance, here's how you can make the 760i xDrive look better without overspending.
The all-new BMW 7 Series, with a 4.4-liter eight-cylinder under its hood and all-wheel drive, has a starting cost of $121,300. If you don't want to see people looking at your posh sedan's enlarged kidney frame like it's a dude wearing grey sweatpants on a sunny summer day, you must spend an additional $950 for the M Sport Professional Package to get the blacked-out grille. The aesthetics change dramatically, though! The upgrade is worth it, especially when you go for a subtler body color.
The 760i xDrive is a mild hybrid. It gives the driver access to 536 hp. What it doesn't have is a V12 under the hood. BMW aficionados know that the previous generation 7 Series with the "60i" denomination had a mighty twelve-cylinder powerplant, known as the M760i or M760Li. The latter added a bit more room for those lucky enough to sit in the second row. That's gone now, including the long-base version.
If you still want the V12, you'll have to come up with some more cash and check out the epitome of automotive luxury – the Rolls-Royce Phantom. Also, don't confuse it with the i7 M70 because that's the Bavarian's battery-electric crown jewel.
However, a BMW 7 Series with a V8 might do the job. The latest generation is a gem. It may look a tad bit controversial when allowed to show its lines, curves, and angles, but it is a great option for those looking to escape the SUV lifestyle and travel like diplomats. I would even dare to say that even families should consider it. BMW poured everything it had into it. You know it'll protect those you love and your stuff.

If you end up choosing the G70 760i xDrive, a company called Renegade Design prepared a few exterior upgrades that don't steal any of the exterior's elegance but add more style and dynamism. As you can see in the photo gallery or in the video below, this particular 7 Series looks like it was cut out of a block of marble by an extremely skilled team of humans and robots. It almost seems like it shouldn't be able to move as easily as it does.
The upgrade will set you back around $10,000, but you get a lot of stuff. The pack includes:
New grille housing.
A front bumper lip.
Side skirts.
Mirror covers.
A tiny roof and trunk spoiler.
A redesigned rear bumper diffuser.
Depending on your preference, these add-ons can be made of carbon fiber or basalt (gloss black). The company also offers an interesting selection of wheels measuring anywhere from 20 to 24 inches in diameter.
The all-new 7 Series isn't Renegade's first rodeo. It has created various upgrades for other BMW models. This one doesn't feel too in-depth, but it provides this German luxobarge with a few enhancements that improve its exterior look.
It definitely looks like Rolls-Royce Phantom's long-lost sibling who has refused the aristocratic way and went for a more independent, tech-filled lifestyle.
