Two well-known Youtubers, a couple of sports cars (one brand new, the other tuned), a dyno, an oval track, and also the local quarter-mile dragstrip. What could go wrong? Luckily, nothing!
So, let us hook up with Matt from the RearWheelDrive, who recently bought a 2023 model-year Chevy Corvette Z06 and has been slowly working his way up the performance ladder to see if the hype lives up. Now, there is no better way to put a black Z06 into the proper perspective than to have a little bit of fun both on and off the track.

And where to achieve all that better than a place he already knew? So, after previously winning a round of the Spectator Drags event, Matt is back at Cleetus McFarland's Freedom Factory, and this time he called out to joust the YouTube personality himself. While the initial plan was to bring the C8 Z06 for a dyno run and a quick run on the track, it seems that Cleetus has many other ideas in store. First and foremost, he brought up "the wife's car," a modified, twin-turbo (white) Porsche 911 Turbo S.

With the contrast between light and darkness, yin and yang, set up perfectly, they proceed with the shenanigans – and when McFarland swaps cars, he is genuinely impressed by the new Z06. Remember, the C8 is brand new, so it's got like 800 miles on the odometer when the two videos embedded below were shot back-to-back from both Matt and Cleetus' perspectives, respectively.

Anyway, at the Freedom Factory's oval track, the tough get going, and things start to heat up between the Z06 and twin-turbo 911 Turbo S, but the guys do cool down a little bit – just enough to perform a couple of dyno runs on the C8 and see the stats. Indeed, though, that is not why we are all here for. Instead, the most critical moment is when Cleetus and Matt head out to Bradenton Motorsports Park in Bradenton, Florida, for the quarter-mile battles.

The first run ever for this black Z06 occurs at the 5:08 mark, and the Corvette takes the fall by a ridiculously small margin – 10.65s for Cleetus' 911 and 10.89s for the dark and menacingly great-sounding Chevy. The second race takes place at the 6:09 mark, and though we have no ETs, we can always switch to McFarland's POV and see that first race from a fresh perspective.

Unfortunately, something happened during the second race as the latter didn't even appear in Cleetus' video – either the car had a mechanical problem, or the start was botched, and they chose not to pursue it anymore. Oh well, you really cannot have everything in life – even when you are surfing on social media!
