Following the launch os the S6 and S7 configurator for the 2020 version of the two cars,, German carmaker Audi announced this week the starting price for the five-door coupe based on the A7 executive car. And it sure doesn’t come cheap.
As per Audi, there will be two trim levels for the new S7, Premium Plus and Prestige. The former has a starting price – not including destination charge – of $83,900, while the latter will sell from $89,500.

The price is justified by the range of changes brought to the car for the 2020 model year.

First off, the S7 is powered by a new engine, a 2.9-liter twin-turbocharged TFSI in V6 configuration. The engine works together with an eight-speed Tiptronic automatic transmission, the quattro all-wheel drive, and a brand new 48V electric compressor.

With this hardware on board, the new S7 is capable of sprinting from 0 to 60 mph in 4.5 seconds, with 20-inch, 5-twin-spoke wheels tasked with putting the engine’s power to the road.

Visually, the vehicle stands out thanks to the deployment of a host of extras. On the outside, the bumpers are in S design, as are the side sills and quad exhaust system. At the front, there’s the platinum double-slat Singleframe grille and an aluminum-optic front splitter, while a diffuser inlay enhances the rear in black chrome matte.

The interior has been tweaked as well. The most significant change is the replacement of the rotary dial and the conventional buttons with two screens for the MMI system: a 10.1-inch up in the center of the console and an 8.6-inch one beneath it.

There are a couple of packages available for the 2020 S7 that are sure to bring the price of the model well above the numbers mentioned earlier.

The black optic package adds black exterior mirror housings and 21-inch 5-V-spoke star wheels, while the S sport package is a bit more performance-oriented, bringing to the table dynamic all-wheel steering and quattro differential.

The new S7 is already available for order.
