With Mercedes-Benz having recently given us the latest piece in the new E puzzle, which came in the form of the 2018 E-Class Coupe, the time has now come to return to the Afflaterbach-infused side of the tale, as an E63 Wagon prototype has recently defied the weather over in Germany.
Once again, the 2018 Mercedes-AMG E63 Wagon test car paraded its flamboyant wheel arches, as well as its gaping front apron intakes in front of the cameras. Then there's the ground clearance of the vehicle, which is a clear indication of the all-weather potential set to be delivered by the T-Modell.

The rumor mill has gone as far as talking about the E-Class All-Terrain receiving twin-turbo V8 motivation, but we think it's a bit too early to discuss such a possibility.

Regardless, the sheer thought of a dog-friendly Afflaterbach machine that can keep up with the Mercedes-AMG GT R in the 0 to 60 mph sprint is enough to tickle our speeding bone.

Hopefully, the Wagon will inherit the Drift Mode of the E63 S 4Matic+, which would allow the vehicle to make full shenanigan use of the 612 PS and 627 lb-ft (850 Nm) under the hood.

As for the less-sideways determined drivers, these could opt for the non-S E63 4Matic+, which packs 571 PS and 553 lb-ft (750 Nm) of twist, so it can probably sort out the luggage in the back on its own.

Since we hate to keep you waiting when it comes to speed-delicious developments such as the ones we have here, we've added a rendering of the family-savvy Mercedes-AMG to the image gallery. Coming from pixel master X-Tomi, this promises to be extremely accurate and should quench our thirst for uber-estates until prototypes such as the one seen in the video below move on to the next stage of their development.
