The 2017 Mercedes-Benz E-Class is still testing out there, hiding its body from our prying eyes with the help of that black and white camouflaging wrap that has got to be the stuff of nightmares for any spy photographers. Literally.
Making its presence felt this time is the estate version of the executive saloon, sporting what seems to be a pretty impressive boot that most Europeans must be drooling at already.

The car is covered from head to toe, including its headlights and taillights, so it's still hard to reliably make out any details of the new generation. Still, the baby S-Class/bigger C-Class description continues to suit the car perfectly, even though in estate form it's harder to draw comparisons with the luxury limousine.

What we're really anxious to see is the Mercedes-AMG version we know so little of, together with - hopefully - a Coupe version we know absolutely nothing about.

But we're getting ahead of ourselves here. Let's focus on what we do know from all the information presented by Mercedes-Benz so far, leaked from unofficial sources and gathered by our own senses based on the previous spy photos.

Starting with the interior, we know it'll be a mix of C-Class and S-Class with the lower part of the center console borrowed from the smaller car and the higher one from the S. It won't have a fully digital instrument cluster like the S-Class, or at least it won't be offered as standard.

As for the exterior, previous pictures of the sedan wearing only white camo showed us the general outline of the new E-Class. That car might have actually been a Maybach, as it appears to have had a two-tone body color, but it's not clear. And not all that relevant, if we're to take what's happening with the S-Class as an example - Benz or Maybach, the exterior stays basically the same.

I guess the news for now is that the E-Class (estate, at least) hasn't dropped any of its camouflage and continues to hid its two-volume body like the shy maiden it so clearly isn't. But with such vigilant spy photographers, stay assured we'll be there as the camouflage begins to get thinner.
