2017 Mercedes-Benz E-Class Interior Revealed in Latest Spyshots

We've been showing you images of the future 2017 Mercedes-Benz E-Class sedan and estate for the past few months, and to be honest, they're not that revealing yet.

They did prove enough to tell it follows the design line (a bit too closely if you ask us) of the S-Class and the smaller C-Class, though, and we're still split on whether that's good or bad. Regardless of our decision, the 2017 Mercedes-Benz will carry on the same way you see it in these images.

Now, though, we got to see its interior for the first time and we must say it looks as though it will be easier to tell the three apart from the dash layout than the exterior design.

Don't get us wrong, the dashboard also looks like a mix between the S-Class and the C-Class, but it somehow manages to have its own personality. Let's take it from the bottom to the top.

The lower part of the central console is virtually identical to the C-Class' version, housing the COMAND controller complete with touchpad, a storage compartment, additional infotainment control buttons and everything related to climate control.

Moving up we come across the four air vents that are similar to those in the S-Class (only three for the C), but the clock is missing (it's been moved lower, below the air-con buttons) and there's also less space above them until the next tier starts.

This last tier is taken up by the large screen that is continued to its left with a partially analog instrument cluster. There's nothing bad to be said about the size of the central screen, but it is alligned with dashboard instead of turned towards the driver by a few degrees. On the other hand, the E-Class will have an optional head-up display that will give the driver all the important data.

As it stands, the instrument cluster consists of two dials flanking what appears to be a standard Mercedes-Benz color display. There's no word on it, but a fully digital one might be offered as an option, especially since Mercedes is planning on selling a Maybach version of the E-Class as well.

Mercedes-Benz has found a pretty good groove and it's sticking with it for now. Anybody expecting anything revolutionary will be disappointed once the 2017 Mercedes-Benz E-Class will be launched. All the other more realistic folks will get a modern interpretation of the Mercedes-Benz executive sedan philosophy.
