It's again that time of the year when Arai and Drudi Performace are raising the bar in anticipation of the 2016 edition of the Isle of Man Tourist Trophy. This obviously means that the two are pulling the wraps off the new Limited Edition Isle of Man TT 2016 helmet.
Drudi Performance's Aldo Drudi and Arai Helmets have quite a nice history together, as it's been more than once that the Italian designer created the graphics for special Arai lids. This year's limited edition IOM TT is based off Arai's RX-7V full-face helmets, a "deviation" from the RX-7 GP units that have been used so far in many IOM TT and rider replica iterations.

One of the benchmarks in the premium motorcycle helmet segment, the new Arai RX-7V brings forth some improvements over the previous members of the RX-7 family.

The Eco Pure liner is new and has a slimmer frame, while the new ducts, improved diffuser and integrated air channels contribute to better ventilation and greater aerodynamic factor. Also new are the repositioned visor mounting position and the VAS (Variable Axis System) visor system.

A sober, yet racy design for the 2016 Limited Edition Isle of Man TT helmet

Aldo Drudi preferred a rather minimalist approach for the design of the 2016 Limited Edition Isle of Man TT lid, so he only used three colors, black, red and white.

This year's helmet bears ample TT lettering in red on either side, with the classic "leg triskelion" effigy on the sides of the chin bar and the checkered flag texture dominating the lower back area.

"Isle of Man" and "Ellan Vannin" (Gaelic name for Manx) also adorn the lid, while the layout of the Mountain Course around the Snaefell complements the design.

No price was mentioned at the time of writing, but we know that the lid will be first available at the TT, with dealers receiving it afterwards."The very first Isle of Man TT 2016 helmets will be available in the Arai village on the first TT practice day on Saturday May 28th from the Arai service centre in the Isle of Man TT paddock. From then on, the Arai Isle of Man TT 2016 Limited Edition will be available through all European Arai dealers," the official IOM TT website reads.
