Chevrolet is not wasting any time when it comes to the 2016 Camaro and its iterations. Yes, we're talking about the open top version of the pony car, which was just teased by its makers via a short but straight-to-the-point video.
When the 2016 Chevy Camaro hit the online world dressed in a set of pictures and official specs, our take on the car was that from a visual point of view, it is a beautiful machine. Sure, we do not doubt its capabilities on the road, but we'll let you know about that once we get to drive the new Camaro.
But summer is the queen now so Chevrolet couldn't find a better time to tease the Camaro Convertible. What's really sad about the short clip is the fact that we don't get to see the car, but only a glimpse of its dashboard as the driver activates the electric roof.
Nevertheless, Chevrolet has some sweet PR talk to make the wait more sugared, saying "objects in motion should stay in motion, especially when dropping the top. There's only one button between you and the sky. The most innovative Camaro Convertible ever will soon reveal all its secrets. Stay tuned. It all goes down 6/24/15."
We're eager to see the car as soon as possible, especially after someone rendered the 2016 Chevrolet Camaro Convertible some weeks ago, and the pictures left us drooling on our keyboards.
No additional official intel is known about the car, but we expect it to pack the same engines as the Camaro coupé: a 2-liter four-cylinder unit with 275 HP and 295 lb-ft (400 Nm), a 3.6-liter n/a V6 with 335 HP and 284 lb-ft (385 Nm) as well as the 6.2-liter V8 from the C7 Corvette pumping 455 HP and 455 lb-ft (617 Nm).
