In an exclusive interview for AutoBlog.com, GM product chief Mark Reuss was asked if the 2016 Cadillac CT6 Hybrid is in development. Guess what? “The Shanghai show is where you should look for all of it. So stay tuned." Ka-ching! This is all we needed.
Reuss added: “we've really got to wait until we finish rounding out the [Cadillac CT6] portfolio," while a Caddy spokesperson commented: “we will add variants.” As a brief reminder, the CT6 sedan’s debut at the New York Show came with three powertrain options.

These are the entry-level, rear-wheel drive 2-liter turbocharged four-cylinder, joined by the AWD-enhanced 3.6L LGX naturally aspirated V6 and the 3-liter twin-turbo V6. The latter churns out a competitive 400 ponies and 400 lb-ft (542 Nm).

Rumor is the lineup will add a twin-turbocharged LT5 small-block V8 and a plug-in hybrid variant. There’s still no word on the force-fed LT5 motor, but the 2016 Cadillac CT6 Hybrid will materialize later this month.

Range estimates? We have been previously teased with an “industry-leading fuel economy of 70 mpg equivalent,” by global product development head Mark Reuss. In CT6-related news, Reuss told the previously mentioned publication that a V-Series model has been taken into consideration as well.

“The [GM Omega] architecture is certainly capable of doing it. The question is who's going to buy the CT6? What kind of person? And do we need a V-Series off of that is the question we haven't answered yet. It's certainly capable of doing it ... we've certainly thought about it,” the higher-up said.
