It has been argued that Volkswagen commercials are much more interesting than the cars. We could also mention that the German firm makes as many hotdogs as it does cars, but that's another story!
Today, we're going to show you three print ads for the all-new Passat coming from Romanian agency GMP. They were tasked with promoting the City Emergency Brake function of the mid-size sedan and came up with the idea of using punctuation.

We all make those little mistakes where we forget to put a comma. But sometimes, a missing dot can change everything for the worse. The three print ads try to explain this with unfathomable messages like "I'm sorry I love you." or "Let's eat my boss. He's ready."

Cannibalism is not only frowned upon in the Western world, but it's also extremely funny when you talk about it with a workmate.

Stopping at the end of a sentence is very important, just like stopping your car at the right time. That's why the new Passat can brake by itself if you don't respond to a hazardous situation.

Volkswagen has had a City Emergency Brake system available even on the little Up! city car. However, it only really became well known when the Golf 7 came out. It's integrated into the Front Assist, which warns of insufficient space to the vehicle ahead in traffic, frontal collision hazards at higher speeds and automatically brakes the vehicle if necessary.

Until the Passat, the Emergency Braking system could only detect vehicles. Bot now, the more advanced system also recognises pedestrians for the first time. Volkswagen says this is a good example of democratisation of driver assistance systems because Volkswagen already offers this technology as standard from the Passat Comfortline.

The Passat is packed with a lot more safety features, including Traffic Jam Assist, Rear Traffic Alert and Smart Light Assist.
