In April 2014, Toyota USA revealed the mid-life refresh for the Camry sedan. We liked it because it got rid of the rental car look, but it seems the same changes weren't made in Japan. Despite being a car of historic significance, the Japanese Camry doesn't have the facelift. Instead, it offers new features, which are just as impressive.
Toyota Japan just added a new trim level called Hybrid "G Package Premium Black", which isn't very catch, but makes an accurate description of what's going on. The star of the show is up front, a set of LED headlights with a blueish tint that we rather like. They have two projectors unlike most cars in the US which only have one. In addition, they've also included a second fog light at the bottom of the bumper that also uses LEDs.

JDM Camry models also get a new "super chrome black" paint finish, 17-inch wheels and partial leather seats.

Inside, the car features soft leather door trim ornaments and woodgrain trim for the instrument panel, doors, dash, steering wheel and even the air vents for the rear passengers. Equipment upgrades include a reversing camera.

All Camry sedans sold in Japan are front-wheel drive hybrids, equipped with 2.5-liter engines that have the same output and fuel economy rating. There are eight color choices in total and prices start at 3,577,745 yen ($30,000) for the models equipped with LEDs, though you can have a slightly cheaper version without them. Now if only there was a way to combine the style of the US model with these new headlights!
