The Macan SUV is getting all the attention right now, but Porsche's reengineered Q5 would be nothing without the reputation of the mighty Cayenne. Through two generation, this SUV has reshaped the luxury market in its image and will likely continue to do so after it's updated.
A mid-life facelift is being worked on by Porsche engineers, not only in Stuttgart as you'll see in the video below, but also in Scandinavia's winter testing sessions. No timetable has yet been announced for the model's launch, but we could be seeing a simultaneous debut in New York and the upcoming major Chinese auto show.

Regardless of the time and place, comprehensive changes to the Cayenne are being made, just like with the Panamera facelift last year. The engine range will see a new new twin-turbo V6 with 420 PS replacing the current 4.8-liter V8 in the Cayenne S. We think this is the car in the video, since it sounds turbocharged and has four exhausts (unlike the diesels which have only 2). The popular Diesel base model will also receive a substantial boost in output to 300 PS. If the Panamera GTS is anything to go by, then we're going to see a bump in power from 420 PS to 440 PS.

Although we can't say for sure, both the Turbo and Turbo S model should also become faster through superior launch control, PDK gearboxes and slight increases in power from idle to redline.

He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
